How to boycott Twitter/X

  • Quit working for Twitter / X – there are better jobs out there
  • Tell your friends that they should connect with you on Mastodon (sign up on Mastodon and share your Mastodon handle on Twitter), because you’re leaving and wait for a week so that people can read it
  • Download your Twitter archive and request data deletion in accordance with GDPR if you’re a EU citizen
  • Repeat this step if you have multiple Twitter accounts
  • Rate the Twitter / X app 1 out of 5 stars on various app stores
  • Tell your friends, coworkers and family members to delete their Twitter profiles and join Mastodon
